Social media – is it the right fit for your business?

The simple answer is yes but to what degree.

Depending on the industry, your target market and the message will help determine what medium you should use. Social media is like a run away train and the statistics have blown all previous expectations out of the water.

The concept behind using social media for your product is allowing your customers to promote and sell your products to their friends on your behalf, powerful isn't it.

Here are a couple of stats that you may or may not know

  • If facebook was a country it would have the 3rd largest population with over 400 million users
  • Facebook added over 200 million users in less than a year
  • The fastest growing demographic on facebook is females aged 55-65
  • 80% of companies now use social media for recruitment
  • There are over 200 million blogs online, 34% of bloggers post opinions of products and brands
  • 78% of consumers trust peer recommendations compared with 14% trust advertising.
  • LinkedIn has over 1 million users in Australia
  • There are over 21.13 million tweets per day
  • 24 hours of video is uploaded on YouTube every minute

Social media is a fundamental shift in the way we communicate and share information.

What has this to do with my business you say! Everything as this is the new way to communicate with and engage your customer with your product and service.
